Making Appointments
The doctors run on a 15 minute appointment system for standard consultations. Please phone the Clinic to make an appointment with your nominated doctor. At the time of ringing please state the name of the person or persons to be seen by the doctor. Whilst every effort is made to accommodate “add on” consultations, please remember that during busy times it may not be possible to do so. Urgent medical problems should be discussed directly with the doctor or referred immediately to the ambulance service. If you need more time with the doctor please inform the receptionist when making the appointment. If you require a house call please ring the Clinic in the morning. Unless urgent, requests for home visits made in the afternoons may need to be refereed to our locum service.
Fees and Billing Arrangements
This practice does not offer Bulk Billing. We follow AMA Guidelines. A standard consultation is privately billed at $70.00. Longer consultations will be charged according to time and complexity. Payment is requested to be by cash, Credit Card (Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa, Diners, & American Express) or EFTPOS at the time of consultation. All pathology procedures are bulk-billed through Medicare/Veterans Affairs direct. For overseas visitors or persons not currently enrolled with Medicare the fee charged for standard consultation is $70.00. We are also able to offer direct claiming from Medicare via H.I.C online. Ask the receptionist how this is done.
Records System
Our medical records are now completely computerised. All previous paper files have been scanned onto our computer. Each patient has his/her own individual medical record. All pathology and X-Ray results are downloaded onto the computer. After being checked by the doctor, they become incorporated into the patient’s electronic record. All correspondence, specialists’ letters, hospital reports etc, are scanned onto the patient’s file.
Computer data is protected by the latest firewalls and anti-viruses software and is supported by our medical IT Consultants. All data is backed up daily on an external hard drive, which is removed from the premises each day by the practice manager.
If a patient wishes to transfer his/her file to another doctor, we shall organise for this to be done. A fee shall be charged depending on the time taken to arrange such a transfer.
The Premises
There are two consulting rooms and a treatment room for minor procedures and for emergency use. Due to the lack of ramp access, prams will need to be carried up the front three steps. Please ask the receptionist to help you. Also due to the absence of ramp access, it is a policy of the practice to provide disabled patients with home visits on request. Please let the receptionist know if you have a disabled dependant that requires medical attention.
The practice opened in January 1996, with the aim of providing comprehensive general practice services to the community. We remain committed to the health and well being of the community we serve.
